2019 Georgia Technical College Foundation Benefactor of the Year

Losing Ashton at such a young age didn’t diminish her impact on the world.  In starting Ashton’s Foundation we hoped we could continue her passion for using education to lift women out of poverty.  We succeeded far faster then we’d ever envisioned would be possible, and have since received several significant awards that validated our efforts.

In October, 2019, we were recognized by the Technical College Foundation Association of Georgia with their Distinguished Service Award.

2019 Kim Keegan’s Athena Award Nomination

In early 2020, Kim was announced as a nominee for the prestigious Athena Award.  Her nomination not only recognized her efforts with the Ashton Hope Keegan Foundation, but also her decades-long work as a leader in the military spouse community, her support of veterans as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, her animal rescue activism throughout multiple states, her work with a Virginia Legislative Committee as an expert on the Americans With Disabilities Act, and her contributions as a Rotarian (to include being the President-elect of the North Oconee Rotary, taking office in mid-2020).

2018 Athens Tech Donor of the Year

On September 26, 2018 we had the privilege of presenting an additional six post-GED scholarships at Athens Technical College!  These women ranged in age, background, and interests, but all had one thing in common – the drive to continue their education after completing their GEDs.

Just before we started the presentations, the Athens Technical College Board of Directors and President gave us a tremendous honor, and presented us their Donor of the Year award!  Ashton would be so proud that her legacy is still making such a difference in the community!
